Happy Father’s Day- The Dad who Made it Happen!

In honor of Father’s Day, I wanted to write an inspiring blog post about my dad. Judging from the picture above, it probably looks like my dad is some sort of drug addict, but he isn’t. That picture was taken in 1996, the year my dad started to put a dream he had into motion- he wanted to build my family a new house and he wanted the whole thing to be paid for by him. When I was just a baby in 1993, my dad said he wanted to start building a house in 1996, so he dedicated his whole life from that point on to achieving that goal. He was working 21 hours a day and sleeping 3 hours a day to save money to build the place we call home today. After a few years of working like crazy and saving money, my dad had saved over $100,000 in cash to put towards the building of our new house.

After 5 years, my family was able to move into our new house in 2001. My dad had fulfilled his dream. He had built a new house for our family, and everything was paid for in advance. This is our 14th year in our house, and we are so grateful that my dad followed his dream, and did what he had to do to make it a reality. For almost 10 years my dad went without so that his dream for our family could come true. He sacrificed things like buying new clothes, going out to eat, sleeping a full 8 hours a night, driving a decent car, and so much more so that our house could be built. This picture is true testimony of watching a dream transform into a reality. A true testament of what hard work, determination, and dedication looks like. A true taste of the process of achieving total success.

Today, I hope the story of my dad and his dream to build a house will inspire each and every one of you to be willing to make it happen. Be willing to sacrifice. Be willing to risk it all. Be willing to step out of your comfort zones. Be willing to be tired. Be willing to work you behind off. Make it happen, today whether you are a father, mother, sister, or individual with a dream. Happy Father’s Day!

Remember, you don’t have to be average, you can be extraordinary. You don’t have to be a rock you can be a diamond.
