Say You Did It

Hi guys! First off, I want to thank you so much for checking out the newest features of my blog! I really appreciate your patience and your ongoing support!! It is so exciting to be back, and to be able to share some words of inspiration with you every week 🙂 I know I said to be on the lookout for my newest blog post, “Stop Waiting”, but after my latest trip to Miami, I felt intrigued to write about something else that was on my mind all weekend.

As many of you have seen on social media, I’ve been traveling all over the country this year. This past weekend, I had the privilege of going to beautiful Miami for the 2nd time in the past 2 months with some close friends and family! How many people can just get up and go to Miami every month? This girl can, but you know what? Anyone can do it, not just me, and that goes for anything, not just traveling.

While I was sitting on the deck of the apartment we rented while in Miami this weekend, I was thinking about how much I love being able to just do the things I desire to do in my life. I love positioning myself to be able to follow all of my dreams and get the most out of life. Of course when I tell people this, the first things they say is:

“Well you’re just getting out of college, you don’t have stress yet.” (Hello..loans?)

“Of course you can go where you please, you don’t have kids.”

“You must not have bills. You don’t know what life is!”

“You’re young, of course you can do these things, REAL life hasn’t started for you.”

All of us have things in our life that we see as “reasons” for why we can’t follow our dreams, or why we can’t do the things we want to do.  We call them our kids, going to work, “real life” (this is my favorite one), being too old, having bills to pay, taking care of kids, or what have you.  I’ll be honest with you guys, I’m DEFINITELY not a fan of a 9-5 job, but I have one. I’m not a fan of bills, but I pay them. I’m not a fan of stress, but I have it. However, the difference between you and I is that I don’t let those things define me or become my life. We all have these responsibilities we have to take care of, we all have stress, we all have things we have to do that we don’t necessarily like or want to do. However, that’s part of life. It’s not  life, I said it’s a part of life, and for the past year, I have worked hard and am still working hard to position myself to be in a place where those things do not control my life, or become my life and you should do the same- so far it’s going well for me! 😉

“People are so afraid to enjoy life and follow their dreams. I say just go for it! Time is waiting for no one which is why I’ve positioned myself to be able to follow my dreams, achieve goals, take risks, and enjoy life! Jobs, bills, school etc shouldnt stop you from doing any of that! It’s your choice, everyone. I wont look back one day wishing I could have or should have, but will be able to say I did it” -Kayla

There’s no excuse for why you can’t follow your dreams, achieve your goals, and change your situations. No matter how old you are, how many kids you have, how many bills you have, how much your job sucks- I don’t want to hear it! These things are gonna always be there, always gonna be a part of our life. I know that- we all do!  However, these things will only be our life if we let them. The choice is ours. I don’t want to wake up one day and realize I’ve spent my whole life being consumed with the irritating inevitable, and neither should any of us! Even in the midst of craziness, judgment from others, stress, fear, take a risk and follow your dreams! Be able to say you did it! ❤

I’ll see you guys next week with “Stop Waiting”. Remember, you don’t have to be average, you can be extraordinary. You don’t have to be a rock, you can be a diamond ❤

-Kayla ❤

  2. Love this article!! My husband and I got married young and already have two kids. Lately we’ve fallen in the trap of believing those lies, but I’m starting to turn that around. This article is RIGHT up my alley! You may not have kids, but we’re still on the same wavelength. Can’t wait to keep up with you!
